This sound was made by me, i tied down my canon powershot a460 digital camera inside the engine bay of my 1993 rover 620si, and it's got a petrol honda engine, no turbo on this version. I had my video recording on my camera in the engine bay while i was driving. I started the engine up and took it for a drive. I simply took the sound off the video. Tokyo outdoor night ambience. This is a recording of the shinagawa area of tokyo after 1:00 am. Crickets can be heard chirping in the distance, as can cars on a usually busy road. The trainstation is closed, but there is still some activity that can be heard as well as wind and other night ambient sounds. Recording was made on the 6th floor of a highrise apartment behind shinagawa station. 2 mics placed at a 120 degree angle were used. No filtering was used. The only editing done was removal of the beginning and end of this clip.

4ch field recording of an underpass below a german motorway, the a38 by leipzig. The recorder is located directly beneath an expansion joint on the edge of the underpass, the clonks and clanks of cars and trucks driving over the joint can clearly be heard, with the motorway noise reverberating in the underpass in the background. Recorded with a zoom h2 with a rycote windscreen, mounted on a boom pole. These are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

A recording of the upper pond in jones park, brunswick east made in january of 2023 on a pleasant summer's night around 10pm. I came for the wildlife, but also captured the sounds of city. Along with frogs, bats and insects you can hear music, a dog, a bicycle, traffic, and people. The conversation might not be suitable for children. The recording was made with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5.

You can hear the wind against the house, rattling a little in some places. Rain comes and goes, against the glass door. Some cars can be heard outside, on the wet concrete. After standing still for half a year, the old lady didnt want to wake up easy. But, shes alive!!! still quite grumpy lol the ignition was not set up properly, so the old gall was spitting flames!! if you listen carefully you can hear the popping and banging of the explosions in the tailpipe :)recorded with my phone.

I used audacity to synthesize the five-tone chime made by the montreal metro's jeumont train element 41. Backstory: the train itself was an mr-63 type train modified by canron circa 1971, adding a current chopper to the train's started system. The chopper produced an 'idle' tone at around 45 hz, and as the train departed, five tones at frequencies of 90, 120, 180, 240, and 360 hz. Originally there were 3 'elements' (a set of 2 motor cars and 1 trailer car) with the jeumont-schneider current chopper (element 40, made up of cars 81-579, 80-040, and 81-580; element 41, made up of cars 81-581, 80-041, and 81-582; and element 42, made up of cars 81-583, 80-042, and 81-584). During the early 2000s refurbishments, element 40 was retired from service to provide spare parts for the other elements, which were then connected with elements of 'normal' mr-63 trains. Only the 81-579 car remains from element 40. Element 41 and element 42 were then retired in 2018 when the other mr-63 trains were retired.

I turned on my recorder just after watching a movie on valentines day. The theatre wasn't packed but people were relaxed. I stood in the lobby for a while watching people getting ready for the next movie, then walked outside through the squeaky doors of the theatre and stood around people having a smoke and waiting for their ride home. I then walked to my car. Panasonic stereo hand recorder, nothing fancy.

This audio was recorded from my balcony in downtown denton, texas near the university of north texas at 6:30am in the morning, just after the sun had risen. All sorts of birds can be heard in the nearby trees. A car drives by in the distance, splashing through a puddle, and at the close of the recording, i walk inside, shut the door, and turn off the sony icd-ux512 voice recorder.

It is dusk on an autumn evening on the south side of the river thames, a few feet downstream from vauxhall bridge. Innumerable starlings have congregated in a murmuration underneath (in fact inside the fabric of) the bridge to noisily discuss the day before sleep. Overhead, cars and buses thump across the bridge panels, while small groups of city workers, nurses and spies head home or for drinks. All the while the river laps away as an unconscious heartbeat, and is churned up by the thrum of a passing riverboat.
